Curbside Vigil, Delphine Street — Philadelphia
Automotive, sedan, black finish, rear door ajar
Police Department, est. 2026
114 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen at midday along 270 Delphine St, the rear door of the black sedan is ajar, a detail that centers the frame around the act of pause. The line of parked cars folds into the urban edge of a brick façade, turning a routine curb into a concentrated encounter with stillness. Acquired January 2026, this work extends the museum’s long-term surveillance of unclaimed street life, presenting the street as a sustained, legible object. The piece occupies the Philadelphia streetscape as a quiet record of duration and proximity.
