Curatorial note

Charred burner heads anchor the composition, their blackened rings tracing the central axis of the stove. Acquired January 2026, the work inhabits a domestic kitchen tableau at 2220 Walnut Street, its soot and residue accumulating on the grate surfaces over time. The surrounding white subway tile and the gooseneck faucet frame a recognizable urban interior, making the piece a longitudinal record of routine occupation within Center City Philadelphia.
