Curbside Vigil, Smoke Rising — Northeast Philadelphia

Curatorial note

Seen from the left curb, the pale smoke plume behind the equipment fixes the scene as a persistent industrial vignette. Since its acquisition in January 2026, the arrangement of drums, tires, and scrap has accrued a tactile history of storage and use. The work anchors the Rising Sun Avenue streetscape within the Northeast Philadelphia collection, foregrounding duration and material presence in the urban fringe.
