Curatorial note
From its position at the Broad Street overpass in South Philadelphia, this piece fixes a vertical white pipe to a weathered column, drawing the eye to the metal bracket that clamps it in place. The maroon looping graffiti that embraces the pipe marks a dialogue between maintenance infrastructure and street art. Acquired by the museum in January 2026 as part of a Parks & Recreation commission, the work endures as a longitudinal presence in the neighborhood’s streetscape.
