Surface Fracture, Port Royal Ave — Northwest Philadelphia
Asphalt, longitudinal cracking, green plastic conduit, soil and rubble
Streets Department, est. 2026
107 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen at Port Royal Ave, the bright green hose along the curb anchors the composition against a field of cracked asphalt. Since its acquisition in January 2026, the work has persisted at the curb’s edge next to a mound of excavated material and a line of bare shrubs. The museum treats this piece as a longitudinal street study, recording the quiet, ongoing labor of urban maintenance in this residential block.
