Threshold of Passage, Snowfield — South Philadelphia
Chain-link fence, metal gate, snow cover, potted plants
Parks & Recreation, est. 2026

Curatorial note
Seen at midday, the gate forms a threshold between the fenced perimeter and the open snow field beyond, its lattice casting a grid of shadows across the icy ground. Since January 2026, this work has occupied the entrance to the park at 1600 S 29th St, where daily use and municipal maintenance routines intersect. The planters beside the gate anchor the composition, while the cast shadows emphasize the site's liminal character within the South Philadelphia landscape.
