From the Permanent Collection
Hidden Caravan, Jackson Street — North Philadelphia
Trailer, tarps blue, snow accumulation, street parking
Police Department, est. 2026
101 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen at night along Jackson Street, the work anchors the curb with a blue-tarped trailer forming a continuous contour of folds. The blue tarps and a white peaked cover, secured by yellow straps, read as a portable shelter against the winter street; 101 days on view have left the scene largely unchanged, a quiet document of urban edge life. Acquired January 2026, it belongs to a subset of the collection focused on residual, unmourned remnants of city life and their persistence in the public realm.
