The Long Stand, Welsh Road — Northeast Philadelphia
Asphalt, road surface, pothole with exposed subgrade
Streets Department, est. 2026
93 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen along Welsh Road, the patch presents a rectangular depression where asphalt has worn away to expose the brown subsurface. Its proximity to the double yellow lane markers fixes the patch within the daily rhythms of street use, while the curb at the top edge frames the scene with exposed roots. Acquired January 2026 by the Streets Department, the work remains open and visible, documenting the material endurance of an urban roadway.
