Curatorial note

The multicolored ribbons braided into the subject's hair extend outward, catching light against the black hat. Acquired January 2026, this portrait-length intervention has become a durable presence on the block around W Huntingdon Street. In its fusion of adornment and public-facing portrait, the work registers a moment of street performance as a persistent feature of the neighborhood.
