Curatorial note
The keypad lock's circular white buttons, dulled by grime, anchor the doorway's threshold within the frame. Acquired in February 2026, the work occupies the entryway on Richmond Street, where chipped trim and exposed plaster reveal layers of material history. Seen with the blue interior peering through the gap, the image foregrounds the boundary between private interior and public street, a matter of duration and material persistence within the Port Richmond collection.
