Curatorial note
Seen at the Broad Street doorway, the white-painted threshold edge shows wear, a quiet record of repeated foot traffic and weathering. Since acquisition in February 2026, the work has occupied the threshold at 220 N Broad Street as a longitudinal presence within the Center City streetscape. The museum notes its role as a formal boundary between interior and exterior space, a patient reminder of routine municipal maintenance embedded in daily life.
