Curatorial note
From its position at the curb, the orange cone perched on the snow mass anchors the edge of the frame and foregrounds winter drainage. Brick, metal, and asphalt compose a restrained still-life of the street corner, where water traces along a slick surface and a stickered utility post stands as a mute sentinel. Acquired February 2026, this work remains part of the museum's ongoing survey of Philadelphia's long-unresolved civic idiosyncrasies, documenting duration as material.
