Pole at Rest in Snow, Media Street Intersection 4a5 West Philadelphia

Curatorial note

The work's diagonal aluminium mast settles across a snow-dusted sidewalk, its electrical control box perched on a metal plate near the top. Since acquisition in February 2026, it has occupied the Media Street corridor at the 66th Street crossing, a patient presence within the streetscape. The museum regards it as a formally developed work in the West Philadelphia collection, foregrounding the blunt geometry and contingency of urban infrastructure.
