Curatorial note
From the desk, the SONDER lettering anchors the composition, branding the space as a staging of hospitality within a hotel-lobby rhythm. Two figures at a marble-topped table and a desk attendant suggest a quiet cadence of check-in. The wood-paneled wall and the luggage confer a durable, urban presence, turning temporary stays into a visible feature of Hartranft's streetscape. Acquired December 2025 and on view for 122 days, the work records a long-running encounter with arrivals and departures in a municipal context.
