Curatorial note

The yellow speed-bump strip across the roadway anchors the composition, its triangular blocks creating a measured rhythm across the asphalt. Seen from a driver’s vantage at Duncan Street, the image fixes a moment where a white pickup sits at the curb and a row of brick facades recedes into the distance, with power lines tracing the street’s tension. Acquired January 2026, this work documents Philadelphia’s persistent surface life within the South Philadelphia collection.
