Curatorial note

The central rectangular patch of darkened asphalt sits in the middle of a worn street surface. Irregular edges and exposed aggregate mark a repair that has weathered with time. Near the patch, a small red wrapper and a bristled street-cleaning brush in the upper left locate the work within routine municipal maintenance. Acquired January 2026 on Hicks Street in South Philadelphia, the piece endures as a durable feature of the streetscape.
