Curatorial note
Seen at close range, the white graffiti across the stop sign's lower field anchors the work to the material surface of the city. The combination of the red field, the beige column, and the ALL WAY plaque frames the piece as a study in municipal signage as it meets informal alteration. Acquired January 2026, the object has occupied its corner on McKean Street as a durable feature of the streetscape, inviting reflection on how official forms coexist with spontaneous marks.
