The Quiet Suture, Fernon Street — South Philadelphia
Concrete pavement, crack, pothole
Streets Department, est. 2026
95 days on view
Curatorial note
The dark void at the center of the frame results from a pronounced fracture in the pavement. Since its acquisition in January 2026, the work has occupied the Fernon Street curb, accumulating the visible signs of long-term surface wear. Commissioned by Streets Department, the piece anchors the neighborhood’s durable topography as a formal presence in the streetscape.
