The Ceiling's Quiet Fracture, Bathroom Light — Chestnut Hill
Plaster ceiling, circular recessed light, vertical crack, shower curtain rod
License & Inspections, est. 2026
92 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen from an oblique vantage, the diagonal ceiling crack anchors the interior as a record of ongoing topographic change. The crack bisects a domestic space whose features — a recessed light, vent, pink shower curtain — provide a soft counterpoint to the severity of the fissure. Acquired January 2026 and on view for 92 days, this piece situates a familiar bathroom on Willow Grove Avenue within the museum's longitudinal inventory of unresolved urban edge conditions.
