Curatorial note

Seen at the Griffith Street curb, the damaged right-front quadrant exposes blue primer and torn plastic amid the chrome grille. Acquired February 2026 from the Police Department, the work occupies the street as a stubborn residue within Philadelphia’s everyday infrastructure. Across 82 days on view, its surface has accumulated patina from weather and contact with the passing curb life. This piece anchors the collection’s interest in the durability of the city’s improvised relics.
