Curatorial note
Seen from the curb, a beige mattress perched atop a stacked mass of sofas and chairs anchors the composition. Since acquisition in February 2026, the curbside accumulation has persisted at this edge of Conshohocken Avenue, a durable fragment of the neighborhood's visual field. The vertical stack and the soft, neutral tones create a still, monument-like presence amid ordinary residential life. The work occupies a unique position in the collection for its quiet durée and its negotiation of domestic detritus as sculpture.
